Foodie fall
Paonia’s Mountain Harvest Festival is Sept. 25-28. This annual four-day harvest celebration features foodie events like farm-to-table meals, a grape stomp, chili cook-off, winery tours and a pie contest, plus free yoga classes, trail runs, art exhibits, a bazaar and more.
Out-west fest
Fruita’s Fall Festival is Sept. 26-28. This is the festival’s 100th anniversary, and the event will include Fruita festival classics like the Cowpuncher’s Dirt Dance, Outhouse race and 5k Stampede.
Celebrating green chile
The Mountain Chile Cha Cha in Pagosa Springs is Sept. 27. This annual downtown Pagosa Springs event begins with a trail race, followed by a green chile cook-off with a cash prize for first place.
Brews & lederhosen
Oktoberfest in La Veta is Oct. 4, with more than 60 arts, crafts and food vendors, a car show, beer garden and German dancing all day long.
