Douglas County deputies are investigating the discovery of a body found Saturday morning near Bergen Park, officials say.

A hiker found the body on Rampart Range Road at about 11:30 a.m., said Ron Hanavan, spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities have not released the dead person’s name, age or gender. Initially there is no indication of how the person died.

“We don’t have anything to say this was an accident or it’s not,” Hanavan said. “We’re in the beginning of the investigation. We have investigators who are just arriving.”
