After winning three matches to take the championship of the Residence Inn Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., over the weekend, the 12-1 Colorado State Rams have risen a spot in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, to No. 7.
The Rams beat then-No. 18 Arizona State, Pepperdine and North Carolina Central in the tournament.
Also, for the second week in a row, the Mountain West Conference’s volleyball player of the week is a Ram — and this time it’s senior outside hitter Marlee Reynolds. She averaged 2.91 kills per set and had six blocks in the Rams’ three tournament victories.

Reynolds, from Dalhart, Texas, is engaged to marry former CSU center Weston Richburg, now with the New York Giants, in March.
CSU opens conference play Thursday at Utah State.
