Of course, sweaters are going to be popular in fall and winter months. But what makes the styles something to really talk about this season is their length. Those crop tops that were popular all spring and summer? Store them away. The new sweaters are long – like, really long – hitting at the knees or even the calves. Designers including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Rodarte all showed long knits, often sleeveless, paired with slacks or even knit pants and skirts for a sweater-on-sweater vibe.

Knit on knit: If you love to hit a trend full-on and daring is your middle time, try the knit on knit action lots of designers showcased on their fall runways. Ribbed flared trousers team with a matching tunic. A long open cardigan is comfy cool paired with sweater-knit cuffed pants. A long neutral colored sweater gets a kick from printed sweater leggings. This is what we call comfort fashion.
