
Denver International Airport flights on Friday are being impacted by that has stopped air traffic heading in and out of O’Hare and Midway airports.
The fire happened Friday morning and led to the evacuation of the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center in Aurora, Ill., which handles inbound and outbound flight communications.
Denver airport officials reported that as of 9:45 a.m. 11 Southwest Airlines flights to Midway and two United flights to Milwaukee, Wisc., had been cancelled, and several other flights have been delayed. Officials encouraged travelers to check their flight status as delays continue to be possible for rest of day.
The Chicago airports are major hubs for Southwest and United airlines, both of which also use Denver as a hub.
