“Shakey Graves and I wrote the song “Dearly Departed” almost a year ago to play that night at Paper Bird’s halloween show, and only once around the sun later, the title of that song has a whole new meaning for me,” Patterson wrote.
Dates for the Shakey Graves tour will be announced soon, according to Patterson’s post, and it will make its way through the U.S. and Canada. Patterson also teased a new music video from her second solo album “Woman to Woman.”
Shakey Graves plays two nights at the Bluebird Theater in Denver on Dec. 11-12, with the second date already sold out.
Paper Bird announced the split with Patterson on Sept. 23, and she’ll play her last show with the folk and indie-pop band on Sept. 26.
“I am leaving Paper Bird after 8 amazing, crazy, beautiful years to pursue my own music,” Patterson wrote on Facebook. “So much love and gratitude to that group and those people for all that we’ve created and experienced together for the better part of a decade! can’t wait to see what’s next for them.”
