BOULDER — More than a year after the historic flood, five homeowners in Boulder County — out of 171 who applied — have been approved for grants through a federal disaster recovery program.
Boulder County had encouraged homeowners seeking financial assistance with flood recovery work or temporary rental assistance to apply for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery program by Aug. 15.
One application had been processed fully and approved by Thursday morning, and four more were approved before the day was over.
Many more approvals for the dispersal of federal grant money are expected in the coming weeks.
