Several old law enforcement badges, as well as a personal handgun, were stolen from a Jefferson County Sheriff deputy’s home in Westminster that was burglarized earlier this week.

Mark Techmeyer, an office spokesman, said an internal bulletin was sent to police agencies in the Denver area alerting them of the stolen items. That bulletin was leaked to a Denver television station, he said.

Also taken from the deputy’s home were several old identification cards, Techmeyer said.

Police in Westminster are investigating the break in.
