Re: “Eric Holder’s mixed legacy,” Sept. 26 editorial.
The Denver Postap editorial describing Eric Holder’s sad record of defending the rights of a free press is but further evidence that Holder is one of the worst attorneys general in U.S. history. His race-based policies of law enforcement led to the almost total abrogation of the rule of law. His refusal to prosecute Black Panther thugs for voting rights violations, his publicity-seeking tirades against a Supreme Court striking down antiquated and unjustified voting rights obligations on reformed Southern states, his politicizing of Ferguson, Mo., his abject failure to prosecute Wall Street criminals for the greatest economic crimes ever perpetrated, his ignoring drug laws, immigration laws, Fast and Furious, and his history of aiding and abetting the presidential pardons of Marc Rich, a fugitive felon, and others, all diminish, if not destroy, his legacy as a black man who became attorney general. The rule of law is better for his departure.
