One person was injured Thursday morning following an apparent gas leak at a Manitou Springs water treatment plant.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, its Hazardous Materials Team was called in just after 9 a.m. at the request of the Manitou Springs Police Department.
The leak was apparently caused by a worker servicing the system, the sheriff’s office said. The injured worker was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The sheriff’s office said there was no danger to the public from the leak, which was contained.
