One person was stabbed Saturday afternoon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Center during a fight, police say.
The extent of the person’s injuries are not yet known, but the victim does not have life-threatening injuries, said Mary McIver, Denver police spokeswoman.
The victim, described only as an adult, is being treated at the recreation center, 3880 Newport St., McIver said. No one has been arrested following the 12:25 p.m. assault, she said.
The suspect, also an adult, ran away from the scene, McIver said.
“There were a couple of people fighting and one of the participants pulled out a knife and stabbed the other person,” she said.
The officer said she used to work in the neighborhood and described it as “pretty mellow.”
