GREELEY — As a chorus of boos seeped in from outside the board room Monday night, the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a new teachers contract despite the fact teachers never accepted it.

Greeley teachers filed out of the meeting in silence.

Monday night marked the second time since 2009 that the District 6 school board has made a contract decision without teacher approval.

Teachers were cynical about board members’ insistence that they were working to improve teachers’ lot and morale.
