kicked off a week-long residency on the with an explosive cover of ‘s “War Pigs.” And you have to give the Letterman credit for refraining from clapping during the song’s false endings. The band was joined by Zac Brown, who will appear on Foo Fighters’ upcoming album.
Foo Fighters are spending the week with Letterman to support the new album and HBO series, both called “Sonic Highways.”
Dave Grohl also sat down to chat with Letterman about the new project.
“The band goes to eight cities across America. We go to each city for one week. We load our stuff into a studio and I go and interview a musician from that city,” Grohl explained.
In early August, is due out on Nov. 10
