Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, right, gestures while his opponent, Republican candidate for governor Bob Beauprez, waits for his turn to speak, during a debate in Denver on Oct. 6. (Brennan Linsley, The Associated Press)

Re: “Candidates differ on steps for Colorado’s ‘energy revolution’,” Oct. 15 news story.

Bob Beauprez’s statement that the fracking issue should go to the ballot, where less regulation would have won, again demonstrates his naivete about energy issues and politics. Does Beauprez really want the same electorate that favored President Obama twice and gave us legal marijuana deciding Colorado’s oil and gas policy?

This is just one more example of Beauprez’s lack of a credible plan on how to govern Colorado. During most of the debates and discussion in this election, he has purposely taken the opposite position of gov. John Hickenlooper without thinking of the consequences. Add this lack of a credible plan to his extreme far right actions and positions, and there is an overwhelming set of reasons for independent thinkers to support Hick.
