A Grand Junction Police officer a former girlfriend, who is a 911 dispatcher for the police department, and her husband, who is a Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputy, resigned Wednesday.

Gage Wright, an eight-year veteran of the force, faces several charges relating to criminal mischief and domestic violence, police said.

Wright was placed on administrative leave without pay after being arrested earlier this month.

Police said they worked with the sheriff’s office in the investigation.
