The first new song off the band’s upcoming album is out today. Foo Fighters have shared “Something From Nothing,” a track that grows in sections through nearly five minutes. It starts with some gentle guitar picking, moves into a funky bass breakdown, then into some harder classic Foo Fighters and near-thrash at the end.

To promote the mini-series (of the same name as the new album) Foo Fighters have spent the week with David Letterman. On Monday they kicked off the stay with a and Wednesday played “Polk Salad Annie” and then left
“Sonic Highways” is due out on Nov. 10.
