Commerce City police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a residential burglary Monday at 12294 Hannibal Street.
According to officials, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a citizen returned home and found a person armed with a handgun in his residence. The burglar is described as male, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with a small, thin build. The suspect was wearing a multicolored (dark over light) windbreaker or fleece type jacket, dark-colored pants, tennis shoes and he had black, neatly groomed hair.
Police said this is the second daytime burglary interrupted by a homeowner in Commerce City in the past month. The first burglary occurred in late September in the 9500 Block of East 112th Drive.
The suspect in the September case was described as a man in his 30s or 40s, approximately 5-foot-8 with short brown hair. This suspect was also believed to be associated with a maroon or red sport-utility vehicle.
