Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I was hired while the business was in the process of transitioning from a Russian bakery to an American cafe with bistro food.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: What sets us apart from other coffee shops are the personal touches from our baristas, each having their own custom drinks like a pumpkin chai or the “Walter White” mocha (a quad shot breve caramel white mocha), to our eclectic food menu with everything from breakfast burritos to Russian dumplings.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Getting to know and talk to our customers to create a friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Trying to convert people from that corporate coffee place from Seattle down the street.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: We do movie promotions with Lions Gate movies involving giveaways of advanced screening tickets, posters and shirts.
