Another tough bit of medical news regarding Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson.

He will miss two to three weeks with a shoulder injury. Wilson was hurt in Tuesday’s game against Florida after a collision with a Panther player. Wilson has had in recent years.

Wilson had been playing a regular shift of late. He had a tough start to Tuesday’s game with a turnover that cost his team a goal. But a lot of guys turned the puck over last night.

Who will take Wilson’s spot? It’ll either be Nate Guenin or Zach Redmond. We’ll learn more at practice Thursday.

HEARD DEMOTED

Another piece of Avs news: Mitchell Heard, the team’s second-round pick in the 2012 draft (41st overall) was demoted from Lake Erie to the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. Heard had a good start to his Komets career though, with a goal and assist in his first game.
