Von Miller prides himself in being creative. He leads the league with nine sacks, and has pulled down the quarterback in six consecutive games, tying his career-high. Each sack has featured a different celebration. Thursday, Miller planned to pay homage to teammate DeMarcus Ware by performing the “Hulk Smash” after a sack.

Miller pulled down Philip Rivers. Check. He raised his arms into the air. Check. And then, well, he’s not sure what transpired next.

“I was going to do the Hulk, and it all kind of happened fast,” said Miller, who had the wind knocked out from a chip block, but returned to the game. “It’s not like you know when you are going to get a sack. It became more of something else.”

It appeared as if Miller was walking through mud or trying to keep his britches from falling off. His recent sack dances — or wobbles if you will — are traced to the scene in “Forrest Gump” when he ran like the wind blows after his knee braces fell off.

“I don’t know what he was doing tonight,” said Ware with a laugh. “I am going to have to give him a hard time.”

The two have enjoyed a healthy competition, pushing each other as Denver sits with a 6-1 record. The pair has combined for 16 sacks.
