Re: “The Postap picks in congressional races,” Oct. 19 endorsements.

After ignoring the 4th Congressional District election almost completely, The Denver Post decided to endorse one of the candidates. You endorsed the wrong candidate, Ken Buck, an extremist who would duplicate the record of Cory Gardner, doing nothing on immigration, opposing infrastructure development, opposing renewable energy projects, making more votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and supporting more government shutdowns.

You did say his opponent, Vic Meyers, has solid ideas on infrastructure, “but has dug in against important reforms of entitlements … .” Thatap a backhanded way of saying he has vowed to protect Social Security and Medicare. Buck, on the other hand, has questioned the constitutionality of Social Security, called it “a horrible policy” and said it should be privatized.

If you had paid attention for the past year, it is inconceivable you would have thought endorsing Ken Buck made sense. It does not.

I’m voting for Vic Meyers.

I am surprised that The Post endorsed Rep. Ed Perlmutter. However, I doubt he is the only candidate fully in touch with Colorado. I happen to know that Don Ytterberg, his opponent, is very much aware of Colorado problems and needs, as well as fully understanding small business. Why would we support Perlmutter, who has been part of the problem and has been lockstep with the current administration and its multiple failures?
