Police in Colorado Springs say they arrested a machete-wielding man early Tuesday after he fought with an officer and was found to be holding concealed methamphetamine.
John Britten was arrested about 4 a.m. on the 4800 block of North Academy Boulevard after an officer observed him in a “suspicious vehicle driving slowly behind several business,” police said.
The officer contacted Britten and saw he was armed with a large machete. As police searched him for more weapons, Britten began to “actively fight,” authorities say.
Britten tried to punch an officer several times before he was arrested, police say.
Britten was booked into the El Paso County jail.
