Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, right, and his Republican gubernatorial challenger, Bob Beauprez. (Denver Post file photos)
Letap agree that both major-party candidates for governor are nice guys. Beyond that, one promises more of the same while his challenger offers solutions for a brighter future.
Gov. John Hickenlooper has a difficult record to defend. It includes a failed attempt for a billion-dollar annual tax increase and the delayed execution of convicted multi-murderer Nathan Dunlap. The governor has shown time and again he is weak, indecisive and purely political.
Candidate Bob Beauprez has a record of achievement. He has outlined a specific agenda to return Colorado to an age of prosperity, with a can-do attitude. As governor, Beauprez will remove unreasonable regulations which place a burden on business development and in doing so will create more well-paying jobs. He will toughen the criminal laws in Colorado. He will bring meaningful and effective reforms to our schools.
We cannot afford another four years of failed leadership.
