Interview with Pam Dumonceau, president and CEO
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I have a passion for helping people and I knew I wanted to be in a profession where I could really make a difference in people’s lives. Money and finances were an open topic in my family. All I really needed to know I learned before kindergarten from my single-mother mom.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Three areas we are unique in are tax reduction strategy, personalized retirement planning and consistent communication with each client on news relevant to them. Our tax savings ideas are highly valued by our clients because everyone likes saving taxes. We partner with their tax professional to find the best options for their specific needs. Retirement planning is on everyone’s agenda at some point in their lives and we collaborate with our clients to ensure their idea of a comfortable retirement is realized. We are especially valuable to clients with $2 million to $10 million dollars of investable assets.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I like discerning each client’s personal values without any preconceived notions of my own. I really love empowering people to be calm about their finances so they can make educated decisions that are completely fulfilling. I enjoy long relationships with my clients and their families, and many consider me an extended part of their own family.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: One of our biggest challenges is to convey the high level of integrity and trust they will experience while working with us. It is disappointing that so many consumers have had a bad experience with a different firm and are hesitant to enter into a new partnership with us out of fear. Calming that fear and showing clients the benefit of Consistent Values is a challenge I enjoy facing because I am confident that our service is unsurpassed and I can proudly stand behind that.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: I started as an executive secretary making $18,000 a year in October 1983 for a real estate investment firm. Since then, I have become uniquely artful at creating a plan consistent with our client’s financial values irrespective of how much money they have. If someone has a passion, I will help synthesize their values and match their money. We have a thriving and growing firm and I am passionate about meeting new clients that I can bring value to in their lives.
