An “unknown substance” that caused the evacuation of a Broomfield office building Thursday morning was deemed safe.
Sara Farris, a spokeswoman for North Metro Fire, said the “white, powdery substance” found on a desk by an employee didn’t test positive as a biological or hazardous agent.
A haz-mat team, donning yellow protective gear, entered the building in the 2600 block of West Midway Boulevard late Thursday morning after more than 100 people had been evacuated.
The evacuation remained in effect until early Thursday afternoon.
Farris said two employees who came into contact with the mystery substance were decontaminated as a precaution.
The case is still under investigation, police said.
