Culture fest out west

Mesa County’s Culture Fest is Nov. 7 and 8 in Grand Junction. More than 30 countries will be represented with festive food and entertainment. The festival kicks off with an art reception on Nov. 7. All events take place at the Grand Junction Central Library.

Art and lights

Fort Collins’ annual downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony is Nov. 7. The night begins at 6 p.m. with cookies, hot cocoa, music and cider, followed by thousands of strands of lights illuminating downtown. The Fort Collins Gallery Walk also takes place that evening, with more than 20 fine-art galleries staying open late to host special events, artists and art shows.

American Indian Film Fest

The first annual American Indian Heritage Film Festival in Montrose is Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m at the Montrose Pavillion. This free festival includes a four-part documentary series with American Indian discussions on consumer culture, competing religions, climate change and more. American Indian vendors and the Ute Indian Museum will also be selling merchandise.

Greens for all

Steamboat Springs’ 20th annual Festival of Trees begins on Nov. 15. Festive trees decorated by local businesses will be on display at the Tread of the Pioneers Museum through Nov. 24. Viewing hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
