“Wishes Through Our Hands: Japanese Quilts Made in Response to the 2011 Tsunami” is the title of an exhibit that recently opened in Golden’s Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. The quilts were made after the March 11, 2011, disaster. Three teachers and Japanese quilt makers, including Miwako Kimura, Sachiko Yoshida and Noriko Koyama, joined their students to support the survivors in their quiltmaking efforts, and 29 of their works are on display through Jan. 24.
