Getting your player ready...

The Broncos’ run of misery in New England goes way back. They haven’t defeated the Patriots in Foxborough, Mass., since 2006. The weather can be a factor, and initial Sunday forecasts called for 30-mph wind and a temperature near freezing.

But forgive Patriots coach Bill Belichick for rolling his eyes. He provided a scathing assessment of meteorologists when asked Friday about Sunday’s game at Gillette Stadium. Think Peyton Manning and rogue scoreboard operators, and you get the idea.

“I’d say based on the forecasts we’ve gotten so far this year, none of them have been even very close to what game conditions were,” Belichick said. “There was 100 percent chance of rain last week and the only water I saw was on the Gatorade table. You know as well as I do, it could start one way and change during the game. We have to be ready for whatever it is, but my experience of going with the forecast in this area two days before the game … I’d bet a lot that they’re wrong, just based on history because they’re almost always wrong. … When you walk out on the field, that’s really when you know what it is. The rest of it is really just a bunch of hot air. We played down in Miami two years ago and there was a zero percent chance of rain — zero — and it rained. … If I did my job the way they do theirs, I’d be here about a week.”
