1 Hot tub booze-fest broken up. An after-hours hot tub drinking session came to an end Oct. 12 at the Arvada Station Apartments, 10100 W. 52nd Place, when police showed up and issued three men summonses for open containers and unlawful entry violations. One of the men gave officers a false name.

2 Angry, shoplifting customers return. Two women who were previously confronted in a ruse to leave Target, 7899 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, with a cart of unpaid items returned on Oct. 9. Store security recognized and spoke to the women. One of them previously cussed out loss prevention; the second time her partner stepped up and threatened to run the worker over with a car and puncture his tires. Police could not identify the duo.

3 Jilted roommate. A man upset that he had to move out of a house in the 6000 block of Depew Street in Arvada let his former roommate know how he felt by sending text messages wishing pain, suffering and a life in hell to the woman and her son.

4 Man fails to con police. A homeowner in the 8100 block of West 72nd Place in Arvada reported to police on Oct. 16 an elaborate story of a home break-in, two cars being stolen by an ex girlfriend and out-of-state work in the oil industry. He was issued a summons for false reporting when police quickly realized most of the story was a lie.

5 Home invader gives up. A woman reported on Oct. 16 that her son had frantically called her from their home in the 11300 block of West 67th Place in Arvada after seeing a man attempting to break in through a back door.
