LITTLETON — Authorities say credit card skimmers were found on ticket vending machines at three RTD light rail stations in metro Denver on Wednesday morning.

RTD spokesman Scott Reed said no one’s credit card information was compromised because the card skimmers, which record data, were discovered and seized before they could be retrieved. RTD officials believe they spotted the illegal devices soon after they were installed.

Officials credit an RTD revenue technician with thwarting the attempted scam. At about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the technician found a credit card skimming device on a ticket machine at the Dry Creek Station, Reed said.
