Now it’s dark when I leave the office. (Dave Burdick, The Denver Post)
Good morning. Here’s our review of yesterday’s Denver weather!
High: 63°
Low: 36°
Review: ★★★☆. Though I think I’ve only seen the movie once, I’ve seen this clip a hundred times, the one in “Miss Congeniality” about .
William Shatner, as a beauty pageant host, asks Miss Rhode Island to describe the perfect date. “That’s a tough one,” she replies. “I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” And I have this problem with my brain where any time I think about a light jacket, this joke comes to me. I cannot stop myself from thinking about it.
Well, light-jacket season is over. I have light jackets and now they must be combined with sweatshirts. And gloves.
Which reminds me of another thing I heard once and cannot unhear, and I think it was on SportsCenter in the ’90s, when Keith Olbermann was still doing the highlights and the phrase “web gem” would have been meaningless. And an outfielder, I don’t remember who, is running to catch a fly ball and realizes he’s not going to make it and it’ll go out for a home run, and he throws his glove up — which is not allowed — in an attempt to stop it. He fails, and the Olbermann (or Olbermann-like) comment is a tuneful “Glove is in the aiiir…”
Brrrrr: Based on *current* modeling, it’s possible high temps in may not make out of low-to-mid 30s next Tuesday.
