Talk about rising stars — it’s hard to fathom how much the town of Castle Rock is climbing in the perceptions of homebuyers now. This fall, CNN/Money Magazine named Castle Rock the 4th ‘Best Place to Live’ in the entire U.S. — just as the town’s Gold Medal-winning parks department opened its 230-acre Philip S. Miller Park, planned for an ‘adventure park’ with aquatic attractions and a year-round snow hill – five minutes from two Lennar Homes models opening in The Meadows today.
Lennar is a builder that got involved early-on in Castle Rock’s rise, and has loads of homeowners in neighborhoods near The Meadows who have waited for chances to move-up. But Lennar’s Mary Connelly (she has the Cupcake Truck waiting at the grand opening today a mile-and-a-half west of I-25 on Meadows Parkway) says she already is seeing buyers arriving from Highlands Ranch and from out-of-state, coming for jobs at the new Charles Schwab campus in Lone Tree, 15 minutes up I-25. “There isn’t a lot of inventory in The Meadows now,” said Lennar Regional Sales Manager Matt Cassidy, pointing to the parks, recreation center and attractive schools near Lennar’s new Leafdale neighborhood – including pre-K-through-8 Aspen View Charter Academy, a short walk. The Meadows, says Cassidy, has always done well by its residents for the amenities it offers – coupled with very reasonable HOA fees. Lennar’s site, just south of Meadows Parkway on Low Meadow Boulevard not far from new Castle Rock Adventist Hospital and numbers of restaurants, offers chances for some walkout home sites (they won’t last long, says Connelly – one already sold); as well as some lower-maintenance sites where Lennar will provide Monarch series homes with rear-yard landscaping and interior faux-wood blinds in addition to its ‘Everything’s Included’ package of features. You can tour a 5-bedroom Stonehaven from the Monarch Collection – 2,763 square feet plus 3-car tandem garage included from $438,900. Also, a Peyton from the Grand Collection – four bedrooms plus game room on the bedroom level, an ‘owner’s entry’ area, a roomy home-management area off the kitchen, and a walk-in pantry – items you’ll find on many of these plans. Lennar’s also including something that’s never been offered in Castle Rock before – a 5-kilowatt solar electric system from SunStreet Energy, one you don’t have to maintain, that Lennar estimates will deliver about 80 percent of electric demand for a typical family of four. That – plus Lennar’s standard energy features – will carry HERS (Home Energy) ratings on these two models of a VERY low 36. Watch for some early-delivery homes (including a ranch for move-in by Christmas), all with 9-foot basement ceilings, keyless entries, and other features. Take I-25 south to Meadows/Founders Parkway, Castle Rock’s first exit, and turn west 1.5 mile (past the hospital and shopping) to Low Meadow.
