Showtime has picked up “The Affair” and “Homeland” for new seasons — the second and fifth season for the series, respectively.
“The Affair” will have 10 episodes next season, “Homeland” will have 12. Showtime cited positive ratings results for each, with nearly 4 million weekly viewers for “The Affair” and 6 million weekly viewers for “Homeland.” It seems “The Affair is among the networks most “time-shifted” original series, with the bulk of the viewing done after the original Sunday night telecast.
No big surprise, especially since “The Affair” was planned to devote a second season to the spouses of those featured in the first. Onward, from Noah and Helen to Alison and Cole.
