Winter Park Resort said on Monday that it’s pushing back its opening day to Saturday as it takes advantage of .
The resort had initially planned to open Wednesday.
The resort said the delayed opening “allows Winter Park’s hard-working snowmaking and slope maintenance crews three extra days to make sure skiing/riding conditions are up to the quality visitors expect from Winter Park Resort on opening day.”
Winter Park, like other Colorado ski areas, has been struggling to make early-season snow .
