BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A Colorado man who trafficked two pounds of methamphetamine that authorities in Montana found stashed in cans of clams will spend 10 years in federal prison.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1EqXmF0 ) U.S. District Judge Susan Watters sentenced 23-year-old Norman Wayne Bond Lenox Aurora, Colorado, for conspiracy to distribute the drug.
Lenox had pleaded guilty to the crime in July and was sentenced Monday.
Lenox and a co-defendant were arrested outside a Billings hotel room in January on suspicion of dealing meth. Law enforcement agents found two large cans of clams in Lenox’s backpack. Inside each can was a pound of meth wrapped in plastic.
Co-defendant Fabiola Manco Caballero of Los Angeles was sentenced to 14 years in prison for her conviction on conspiracy and drug possession charges.
