Which would you rather have at your park? A basketball court, a skate park, splash pads, a roller hockey rink or a bike park?

Adams County officials have $200,000 to spend at the county park in Brighton, and they are asking residents to weigh in.

In addition to the county fairgrounds and stables, the 1,100-acre at 9755 Henderson Road already has a full lake, fishing pond, playground, extensive trail system and plenty of open space for recreation vehicle parking.

has been launched to gauge what residents want to add.

“Adams County’s parks and open spaces are meant to be enjoyed by the residents of the county,” Shannon McDowell, interim director of the park and open space department said in a statement. “By giving citizens a voice in the selection process, we hope to give as many people as possible another strong reason to take advantage of an invaluable community resource — our parks and open space.”

The most popular additions will be chosen and construction could begin in a matter of months, officials said.
