Re: “Draft audit: Denver airport project costs soaring,” Nov. 9 news story.

Sunday’s article on Denver International Airportap hotel and transit center project raised my blood pressure. The $500 million questionable project has ballooned to $737 million and possibly beyond? Seriously? Thank you, city Auditor Dennis Gallagher, for enlightening us citizens.

The Postap coverage this past year shows the project suffers from consistently irresponsible management. Airport CEO Kim Day deserves to be terminated immediately. She has sacrificed the future safety and maintenance of the terminal and runways for what is morphing into a monument to thoughtless excess.

Mayor Michael Hancock and the City Council deserve to be held accountable in next May’s city elections.

Linda J. Drake, Denver
