This Denver-based design duo believes there’s no real reason why not.
Said A.J. Machete, of and , in :
“We don’t think there’s any intrinsic reason it couldn’t be something like the market for local beer.
“If it ever got to that point, there would be tons of money and tons of investment and tons of resources for producing clothing here in Denver.”
So, does the Denver fashion scene have the potential to become the next craft beer? It’s a great question.
For this weekend, at least, fashion will be in the spotlight at the Colorado Convention Center. Running Nov. 14-16, is a new indoors arts marketplace from the folks behind the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Opening night Nov. 14 features a big-name runway show, with collections from , , and Denver’s own . A number of other Denver-based designers — including Machete and his wife, Lianna Kachmar — will be on hand, as well, showing one-of-a-kind pieces on the runway Nov. 15-16 and manning pop-up shops all weekend.
The goal, organizers said: To connect Denver-based fashion designers with fashion-loving Denver-based customers.
