The former treasurer of a veterans’ memorial foundation has been charged with theft for allegedly embezzling more than $14,000.
The 17th Judicial District attorney said Tami Colleen William, 56, transferred funds from the Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation for her own use between Nov. 8, 2010, and Dec. 24, 2013.
The foundation was created to build and maintain a memorial for veterans in Thornton.
William, who lives in Northglenn, will make a court appearance on Dec. 12.
