So this is a slightly confusing photo for those of us who look at modern 16th Street frequently: The caption puts us on 16th, and in the bottom-right corner — tough to see, so let’s go to an inset…

…you can see a lady from the past staring directly into your soul and a sign for Blake Street.
The Olinger sign is of course and the viaduct is gone. But imagine standing at 16th and Blake today. Or it. The photo above makes it feel so much closer to that Highland hill than it does today, doesn’t it?
