A Union Pacific train hauling 103 cars of coal from Colorado to Texas derailed near Limon on Thursday morning.
The derailment, which did not cause any injuries, happened about 6:45 a.m. between Limon and Cedar Point, according to Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis.
“There’s no estimate yet when they will get everything picked up,” Davis said.
Seven cars derailed, five of which fell over.
Roughly five trains use the route through Limon each day, Davis said. Officials are working to determine if the derailment will force other trains to use a different route.
