What does Boulder have that Longmont doesn’t? Boulder has a historic downtown with lots of taverns, but then Longmont does, too; and Longmont has trails, great access to the mountains, and a location that makes for short commutes to all of those high-tech employers along the Foothills Parkway/Diagonal corridor. Meanwhile, Longmont has something Boulder doesn’t have right now – four brand new homes, three-to-five bedrooms, all super-energy-efficient, located a short walk from both an elementary school and a middle school, each of them top-rated at GreatSchools.org.
They’re priced from around $450,000 – and if you tour Meritage’s Renaissance this weekend and make your move on one of those homes now, Meritage will knock up to $35,000 off the price. Renaissance is an enclave wrapped by trails along Clover Basin Drive in Longmont’s southwest area, close to Amgen, Digital Globe, IBM/Ricoh and other campuses, and just a walk across the park from Blue Mountain Elementary (in addition to the 10-out-of-10-star rating, check what parents are saying about it at GreatSchools.org). “Lots of people want to be here now just for the schools,” says Carol Chavez, who will show you Meritage’s Telluride model home, with 2,685 square feet plus a 3-car tandem garage, and a bedroom level you’re going to love – master situated for privacy, upstairs laundry, two bedrooms on a Jack-n-Jill bath, and a fourth that has its own en-suite bath. If you like its looks, Meritage has one like it on a site that backs to a pocket park, priced at $535,900. Buy it now and close before year-end, and Meritage will reduce the price to $499,900. You can see that and three other homes that can deliver right away at prices from $450,000, figuring in Meritage’s ‘Call-the-Movers’ year-end promotion. And this is a good weekend to tour them, while you can experience first-hand the cozy contrast of Meritage’s energy-efficient design to the weather outside. Meritage’s features stand head-and-shoulders above that of other builders in price range: polyurethane insulation (warmer and tighter, better noise reduction); insulated garage doors; CFL bulbs;, weather-sensing irrigation and much more. Those features yield a 100 percent certified Energy Star rating – telling you how much more you’re likely to save over other homes. Chavez and Liane Wahl can also show you sites coming soon in Meritage’s West Grange neighborhood – access to the same three top-rated St. Vrain schools, at prices from $409,990. Call-the-Movers savings end Sunday, Nov. 16; you must close by Dec. 31, 2014. To reach Renaissance from Boulder, take Foothills Parkway north and onto the Longmont Diagonal, continue to 95th Street/Hover Road; then turn left a block to Clover Basin, and head west two miles. Or from I-25, take Exit 240/Hwy 119 Firestone/Longmont, head west seven miles to 95th, and turn right to Clover Basin, then west.
