The search for a hunter missing since Saturday morning in the Meadowcreek Reservoir area will resume Monday, officials said.

Senior dispatcher Michelle Gowen at the Grand County Sheriff’s Office said the search had been called off Sunday night.

Police received a report Saturday afternoon that a 51-year-old male hunter was lost and had been outside in the Meadowcreek Reservoir area northeast of Fraser since 8 a.m., the sheriff’s office news release said.

The search and rescue team combed the area Saturday night with helicopters and a ground crew, police said.

The release said overnight temperatures were 16 degrees below zero.

The search continued Sunday with 16 ground searchers and a military helicopter.
