Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who was suspended last season after allegedly bullying a teammate, tried out with the Broncos last week but was not offered a contract. (Associated Press file)

Re: “Denver Broncos need to sign lineman Richie Incognito,” Nov. 16 Mark Kiszla column.

I was dismayed to read Mark Kiszla’s column encouraging the Denver Broncos to bring Richie Incognito on board. Ray Rice is a good football player, but does that excuse his behavior? Adrian Peterson is a good football player, but does that excuse his behavior? Incognito is a prejudiced, racial, cowardly bully. No matter how he plays on the field, that does not excuse his behavior.

The Broncos may need an aggressive player, but they don’t need to lower their standards to Rent-a-Thug levels. We have a football team that has standards, and Incognito doesn’t fit those standards at all.
