Having problems with a female acquaintance, Paul Felyk decided to drive to Longmont to use methamphetamine and “think.” Opting for a “better view of the stars,” he scaled the side of the Marshalls building.

That, in turn, lead to the Westminster man becoming trapped within the outer walls of the south Longmont store, according to information in an arrest-warrant affidavit. Felyk was rescued Nov. 11 after employees of the store heard him yelling for help.

Felyk wasn’t sure what day it was when he became trapped between the inner and outer walls at the rear of the Longmont Marshalls store. All he knew was the Denver Broncos had beaten the Oakland Raiders earlier in the evening, according to the affidavit.

That was Nov. 9, a Sunday. But after freeing him from the rear of the Marshalls, 205 Ken Pratt Blvd., first responders discovered three handwritten notes penned by Felyk, 35, one of them dated Nov. 8.
