COLORADO SPRINGS — A top Air Force Academy athletic official was arrested in a Colorado Springs prostitution sting, police confirmed Tuesday.
Dermot J. Coll, who abruptly resigned his position as head of the academy athletic department’s fundraising arm Friday, was cited for allegedly soliciting sex for cash from an undercover police officer three days earlier.
“We did arrest Dermot Coll,” Colorado Springs police Sgt. James Sokolik said.
Coll’s arrest comes as the academy faces increasing scrutiny for misconduct by athletes. Asked whether Coll’s arrest reflected the school’s values, the academy had no comment.
