Collaboration space startup Galvanize made its first acquisition on Tuesday, announcing that Zipfian Academy in San Francisco.

, which offers a 12-week crash course for data scientists, will become part of gSchool, the education arm of Galvanize offering immersive courses in technology topics, like Ruby on Rails and JavaScript. Zipfian will relocate to Galvanize’s 72,000-square-feet campus in downtown San Francisco. Financial details of the purchase were not available.

Galvanize, which launched in Denver in 2012, has become a go-to meeting spot for entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, students and many in the tech industry. It’s currently for the next round of software-development classes at its Denver and Boulder locations. A second Denver location is expected to open in “early 2015” in LoDo.
