1 Slashing at McDonald’s. On Nov. 15, Edgewater police officers responded to McDonald’s, 1701 Sheridan Blvd., regarding a man with a knife. Three men had been assaulted by a man armed with a knife. Two of the victims sustained lacerations to the temple, back of the head, arm and shoulder while the third victim complained of pain to his ribs. One of the victims had serious bodily injuries that required surgery. All three victims and possibly the suspect are transients who frequent the Sloan’s Lake area.

2 Woman hospitalized. On Oct. 26, a Lakewood police officer was dispatched to Lutheran Medical Center regarding a domestic assault. A woman had been brought in from the area of West Colfax Avenue and Jay Street with extensive bruises on her arms and body. She said that her common-law husband had beaten her, and that he had been abusive to her “for some time.” Police are investigating but were unable to contact her husband.

3 Speeder drives drunk. On Nov. 10, an Edgewater police officer pulled over a motorist for speeding in the 2200 block of Pierce Street. In addition to being cited for speeding, the driver was arrested for DUI.

4 Protection order violated. On Nov. 5, a woman was arrested in the 6400 block of West 13th Avenue in Lakewood for violating a protection order. An officer responded to the residence regarding a possibly stolen bicycle. The woman was at the residence in direct violation of the protection order.
