Mountain Vista junior Mallory Pugh was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2014 youth girls player of the year, the organization announced Thursday.
Pugh, 16, scored 13 goals and had six assists in eight games in limited action for the Golden Eagles last season. She missed time late in the season to play with the U.S. women’s U-20 team. This summer, she was the youngest player on the U-20 women’s World Cup team.
Colorado Rush’s Betsy Brandon and Jordan Dibiasi, both from Littleton, were named to the All-America team with Pugh. All three are repeat All-Americans.
Niwot’s Quentin Pearson, who plays with the Colorado Rapids Academy, was named to the youth boys All-America team.
