A police officer in Denver was seriously injured on Friday afternoon after a man entered the 7News building south of downtown and refused to leave, biting an officer before he was tased and taken into custody.

The man entered the building on the 100 block of Speer Boulevard about 2 p.m. where he refused to exit the property after he was asked to leave by the building manager, .

Denver police escorted the man out of the lobby, but he managed to flee and run around the building until he was stopped by officers on East 7th Avenue, the station reported.

Police said the officer’s injury was non-life threatening.
